Business owners are looking to fill positions as Canada’s economy improves and minimum wage increases are established.
Some jobs are going vacant and employers are having to increase wages to attract the workforce. Average hourly wages grew 3.3 per cent year over year in January, the strongest growth yet according to Statistics Canada’s monthly Labourforce survey.
The country’s unemployment rate sank to 10 year lows and StatsCanada’s monthly payroll survey pegs average weekly earnings have risen 2.3 per cent year over year.
The Bank of Canada’s gauge on wage inflation puts year-over-year growth at 2.2 per cent, about double the pace of last spring.  For more details, see Help Wanted
